Tom Dick has been on the faculty of the OSU Department of Mathematics for 28 years. He completed his Ph.D. in mathematics education at the University of New Hamphsire in 1984. He currently serves as Coordinator of Collegiate Mathematics Education and as the Faculty Director of the Oregon State University Mathematics Learning Center. He is a co-PI on OSU’s NSF funded WIDER project, where his focus has been on using OSU’s Math Excel program to have a greater impact on the STEM calculus sequence. Tom has served as Chair of the AP Calculus Test Development Committee, Chair of Editorial Panel for Journal for Research in Mathematics Education, and Chair of College Board/Mathematical Association of America Committee on Mutual Concerns. He has also been a member of National Council of Teacher of Mathematics Research Advisory Committee, the Mathematics Teacher Educator Editorial Panel, and an Associate Editor for School Science and Mathematics. His research interests include a special focus on the use of technology in the teaching and learning of mathematics.
