Dr. Rebecca E. Heiser is an accomplished mixed-methods social science researcher and educator dedicated to advancing socially impactful research. She earned her doctorate from Athabasca University, Alberta, Canada, and her graduate degree from Pepperdine University, Malibu, California. As the Research Impacts Specialist for Advancing Research Impact in Society (ARIS), Rebecca supports efforts to build an inter/national leadership collective that guides research institutions and organizations in adopting societally responsive frameworks to enhance research impacts with the Broader Impacts Institutional Innovation (BI3) program.
Additionally, Rebecca serves as the Interviews Editor with the American Journal of Distance Education and has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Governor General Gold Award, the highest academic achievement award from a Canadian university. Rebecca’s research interests include the internationalization of higher education, participatory learning analytics, international research collaboration, measuring academic scholarship, and exploring quality in distance education.
