Susanna Priest is Professor Emeritus at Texas A&M University and a researcher specializing in communication and public perception concerning emerging science and technology (including biotechnology, nanotechnology, and space science). She has also taught at the University of South Carolina, the University of Nevada, and George Mason University. Her Ph.D. in communication is from the University of Washington, where more recently she was a visiting scholar. She occasionally does consulting work related to science and risk communication.

Her most recent book project, an edited collection of essays on ethical issues in science communication, is due out in 2018 from the University of Chicago Press. She also wrote Communicating Climate Change: The Path Forward, published by Palgrave MacMillan in 2016. She has published numerous articles and book chapters on subjects related to her research.

She is Editor-in-Chief of Science Communication: Linking Theory and Practice.
