Jeremy Hoffman is a PhD Candidate of Geology and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow in the Oregon State University College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences. Jeremy's PhD research involves investigating mechanisms of abrupt climate change in Earth's history and their expression in the chemical and paleontological make-up of ocean sediment deposits. When he's not in the laboratory, Jeremy serves as a Science Communication Fellow for the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, working to develop effective geological and climatological outreach activities for public engagement while employing hands-on and theatrical/improvisational-based education techniques. Additionally, Jeremy regularly engages collegiate and high-school audiences for informal climate science lectures and continues to serve as a STEM research mentor for multiple National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) and Increasing Diversity in the Earth Sciences (IDES) students.
