Inclusive Excellence at OSU welcomes STEM faculty from Oregon State University, OSU-Cascades, Linn-Benton Community College and Lane Community College to apply for the IE at OSU Fellowship. Applications will be open until Friday, April 7th, 2023.
The Inclusive Excellence fellowship program is for STEM educators who are interested in creating change in their teaching practice and within their professional environments.
If you:
- Are curious about how you can incorporate inclusion and equity into your work, but don’t know where to start
- Are already thinking hard about inclusion and equity, but need some structure in order to bring your thoughts to action
- Believe in the importance of inclusion and equity, but are unsure how it is relevant to your work as a STEM educator, and want to learn more in a judgment-free environment
Then this program is for you!
There are three core components to the IE at OSU Fellowship.
The IE Academy
The Inclusive Excellence Academy will be a four-day intensive program that will challenge you to think deeply about inclusion, equity, and justice, and help you explore equity-oriented pedagogical practices that you can experiment with and implement in your work. The Academy will take place in person the morning of June 13th (9 am - noon) and June 14th-16th (9 am - 4 pm).
Please note: Dates have been updated so that the Academy does not conflict with OSU's holiday calendar.
The Action Plan
Each IE Fellow will develop and implement an action plan to create change within their sphere of influence. The IE Team will guide fellows through ideation, planning, and evaluation of the action plans over the course of the fellowship, with fellows being expected to implement their action plans in Fall 2022, Winter or Spring terms 2023.

The Professional Learning Community
Following the IE Academy, Inclusive Excellence Fellows participate in a year-long professional learning community (PLC). This community will meet regularly throughout the academic year to continue learning as a cohort, share new ideas, and support each other through the hard work of change. The IE@OSU team will host at least two events per term to allow the PLC to connect with each other and with the broader community of educators committed to inclusion, equity, and justice at OSU, OSU-Cascades, LBCC, and LCC.
