Lou Woodley serves as the Director of Community Engagement, Public Relations and Growth (Director), leading large-scale internationally oriented community development on the new professional networking platform Trellis, developed by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). She works in close partnership with AAAS and is embedded in the organization’s Washington, D.C. office with the responsibility not only for building the initial community of users on the platform, but also for developing the tools, techniques, training, and policies that will enable the community to scale to hundreds of thousands and then millions of users. Lou works closely with leaders of the platform as well as other stakeholders at AAAS to develop the marketing approach and materials for growth of the platform. In addition, she is a key stakeholder in the on-going product development process, both in terms of specifying initial features and functionality as well as representing the interests of users in the development of the product roadmap.
Ms. Woodley works closely with Dr. Martin Storksdieck, Director of the OSU Center for Research on Lifelong STEM Learning, to develop a research agenda around the platform. This position is made possible through a cooperative agreement between OSU and AAAS.
